ABD/Combine Pads

ABD pads, also known as Combine pads, are sterile, highly absorbent wound dressings most commonly used for abdominal wounds. Unlike gauze, ABD pads use a flexible wick to disperse moisture throughout the entire pad, similar to how a humidifier wick distributes water for nebulization. These dressings are not typically adhesive and must be secured to the body via medical tape and a layer of bandages. ABD pads are best used for high-drainage wounds and thus are less common than your average gauze pads. However, you’ll find ABD pads of all shapes, sizes, and brands below:
