Palm protectors, also called palm shields, are devices designed to protect against skin damage on the palms of the hand, either through involuntary spasms and contractions of the fingers. The padded portion of the palm protector prevents fingernails from scraping the skin, and finger separators keep the skin in between each finger from breaking down as well.
